Kingdom Gym's Doctrinal Statement

Below is a list of fundamental, Christian doctrines that we at Kingdom Gym adhere to:

Of God

We believe in the triune, self-existing God of the Bible. He is, invisible, immortal, and eternal (1 Tim 1:17; Deut 4:15-16). He is the one true God and there is no other (Is 44:6; 45:5-7, 22; 46:8-9). He is the sovereign creator and ruler of the universe (Gen 1-2; Col 1:16) and further, He is not passively distant from His creation but actively involved in it (Job 38-40). He causes all things to work together for the good of those who love Him (Rom 8:28). He is totally free to do as He pleases whether in heaven or on earth (Ps 115:3; Is 46:10-11). He predestines (Rom 8:29: Eph 1:4-5), calls, justifies, and glorifies (Rom 8:30). He is immutable (Mal 3:6). He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Heb 11:6).

Of The Holy Trinity

We believe God is triune in nature (Gen 1:26). In simpler terms, God is one in essence and three in person. The three persons of the Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit) are equal to each other in value but, have differing roles and distinguishing features. Below are several scriptures that support the doctrine of the Holy Trinity:

1 John 5:7; Matt 28:19; 2 Cor 13:14; John 14:11; 1 Cor 8:6; John 1:14, 18.

Of Man

We believe that Mankind was created, male and female, by God in His own image (Gen 1:26-27; 2:7). Man, before sin, had perfect fellowship with God. His law was written on their hearts (Rom 2:14-15), they had perfect righteousness and were free of the stain of sin (Eccl 7:29). They were naked and unashamed in the Garden, able to love God perfectly and free from the bonds of sin (Gen 2:25).

However, mankind did not remain in this state of moral perfection and unhindered fellowship with God. Due to the Fall (see Of Sin), Man is now separated from God and in need of a Savior (see Of Salvation) to reconcile us back to right-standing with God.

Of Sin

Sin is an inescapable reality for everyone in this fallen world. Since the fall, there has never been a man (besides Jesus Christ) who did not sin (Rom 3:23). Adam, as the federal head of the human race, sinned in our place so that all who are in him, inherit a sin nature at conception (Ps. 51:5-10; 1 Cor 15:22). All those who live in their sin, unrepentant, are slaves to their sin and dead in it (Eph 2:1-2; Rom 6:16-18). Because of our enslavement to sin and the resultant spiritual death we all possess, apart from Christ we are unable to make ourselves right with God. There is none who does good, none who seeks for God, and there is no fear of God. With deceiving tongues, cursing mouths, and feet swift to shed blood, all have turned aside (Rom 3:10-18). The only escape from the snare of sin is through Jesus Christ the Righteous.

Of Salvation

We believe that the salvation of sinners is a monergistic work of the Lord from start (new birth and justification) to finish (glorification). It is by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ that any sinner be saved (Eph 2:8). The Scriptures say that faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to obtain salvation (John 14:6; 1 Tim 2:5; John 3:16). Salvation is not universal in nature, in other words, not everyone will go to heaven (Matt 7:14; John 3:16-18). Salvation is a gift from God to reconcilie us to Himself through the life, death, and ressurection of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Of Sexuality/Gender and Marriage

We believe God made humans male and female with no other options (Gen 1:27) and that gender is directly tied to sexuality. Marriage is between one man and one woman (Gen 2:24) and it is a permanant and sacred union.

Of Stewartship of the Body

We believe in the stewartship of the body as it is a gift given to us to use (Acts 17:28; 1 Cor 6:12-20). We are called to be good stewarts of the gifts we are given and our bodies are no exception.
